School canteen
Hermann Oberth International Kindergarten / School / High School promotes the importance of healthy nutrition for children / youth. Food has a major impact on students' health in the long run, on their ability to concentrate, as well as their lifestyle.
For this reason, we have created our own kitchen where fresh, healthy, organic food is prepared and delivered to students. Local products are our top priority! In the school canteen, students benefit from a healthy, varied menu; they socialize and learn about the role of nutrition in personal development.
Our cooks are dedicated individuals that deliver balanced menus under the careful supervision of a nutritionist.
Students and school staff serve meals together as part of a genuine community; the dishes feature all the nutrients needed to achieve a healthy and balanced diet. Students learn to respect food, but also the work of those who are in charge of their daily menu.
The dining room and kitchens are constantly sanitized and disinfected to ensure maximum safety for staff, students and teachers.
The time spent in the dining room is a period of connecting to others, but also of learning about nutrition and healthy eating habits; this allows us to discover the importance of a varied and balanced diet.
Operating rules
Serving meals contributes to the continuous process of educating students as we would like to shape healthy eating habits over time, along with awareness concerning hygiene rules and good table manners. We constantly encourage collaboration and good rapports between students and staff in the dining room.
Thus, the school canteen is a space where...
- students respect their environment;
- students acquire behavioral knowledge and show mutual respect;
- during lunch hours, students remain on campus, as advised by their teachers.
We are attentive to any allergies our students might have. Parents must, however, notify the school in writing of any allergies or other food problems affecting their children. The school fully supports the integration of students with allergies, allocating special attention to the specifics of each medical condition.
